Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps Man and Van Wimbledon has taken, and continues to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. We are committed to operating ethically, transparently, and with integrity in all our business dealings.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Approach
Man and Van Wimbledon maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, child labour and all forms of exploitation. We recognise that the removals, logistics and associated service sectors can face risks related to labour exploitation, especially where subcontractors, agency workers or overseas suppliers are involved.
We are committed to acting professionally and fairly in all our relationships and to implementing effective systems and controls to ensure that slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in any part of our business or our supply chains.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Man and Van Wimbledon provides removal, relocation, and associated transport services. Our supply chains include, but are not limited to, vehicle leasing and maintenance, fuel providers, packaging materials, storage facilities, cleaning services, and labour providers for specialist work and seasonal demand.
We aim to work only with suppliers and subcontractors who share our values and can demonstrate compliance with applicable labour, employment, and human rights legislation.
Policies to Prevent Modern Slavery
We have established internal policies that reflect our commitment to ethical conduct, including a Modern Slavery Policy, an Anti-Bribery Policy and a Code of Conduct for employees and contractors. These policies are communicated to all relevant personnel and form part of our onboarding and ongoing training processes where appropriate.
Our Modern Slavery Policy outlines clear expectations and standards regarding the treatment of workers, prohibition of forced or compulsory labour, and respect for human rights, including the right to fair pay, safe working conditions and freedom of movement.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We conduct due diligence on key suppliers and subcontractors before entering into new commercial relationships. This includes assessing their policies on labour practices, health and safety, and ethical trading. Where proportionate to the level of risk, we seek assurances that suppliers have their own measures in place to prevent modern slavery in their operations and supply chains.
We reserve the right to carry out audits or request evidence of compliance from suppliers. These audits may include site visits, document reviews, and discussions with management. If we identify concerns or non-compliance, we will work with the supplier on corrective actions. Where serious violations are identified or adequate remediation is not achieved, we will consider terminating the relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing
Man and Van Wimbledon encourages staff, contractors, suppliers and any other stakeholders to report concerns about modern slavery or unethical labour practices connected to our business. We promote an open culture where individuals can raise issues without fear of retaliation, victimisation or disadvantage.
Reports can be made internally through management channels or in accordance with our whistleblowing procedures. All reports will be treated seriously, investigated promptly, and handled as sensitively and confidentially as possible. Where appropriate, we will cooperate with law enforcement and relevant authorities.
Training and Awareness
We aim to raise awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff, especially those involved in procurement, supplier management and recruitment. Training and guidance are provided so that employees can recognise signs of exploitation, understand our policies, and know how to escalate any concerns.
We continuously review the adequacy of our training materials and update them to reflect changes in legislation, best practice and our operational risk profile.
Monitoring, Review and Continuous Improvement
We are committed to continually improving our approach to identifying and mitigating modern slavery risks. We monitor our policies, procedures and supplier relationships to ensure they remain effective and proportionate.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement will be reviewed, updated and approved by the senior management of Man and Van Wimbledon on an annual basis, or sooner if required by changes in law or business operations. The annual review will consider the effectiveness of our controls, the outcomes of supplier audits, reports received through our reporting channels, and evolving industry guidance.
By publishing this statement, Man and Van Wimbledon affirms its commitment to doing business ethically, supporting human rights, and taking proactive steps to combat modern slavery and human trafficking in all their forms.
